Vitraclay School and Studio All Purpose with Grog
School and Studio All Purpose with Grog
Vitraclay School and Studio All Purpose with Grog - Low/High fire (Earthenware to Stoneware)
An extremely economic, versatile clay with a broad firing range. This clay is finely grogged to add strength and to provide superior drying properties, making it an ideal clay for classroom and studio.
Unfired Characteristics: A deep grey body. Although this clay contains fine grog, it is still very smooth and malleable from the bag, it is therefore a good choice for education facilities.
Working Notes: A broad firing range allows this clay to be treated as a low fire body or taken to the higher temperatures. Ideal for everything from thumb pots to sizable projects, the fine grog adds strength without making the body too course.
The clay colour is cream at bisque and fires to warm grey buff at glaze temperature. The higher you fire, the darker the body will become. As this is a grogged clay it is also suitable for raku firing.
Available in either 1kg bags or 12.5kgs bags.
Ideal for: Hand-building, Throwing, Raku
