Vitraclay School and Studio All Purpose Clay - Low/High fire (Earthenware to Stoneware)

An extremely economic, smooth clay with a broad firing range. This clay is very smooth, making it an ideal clay for classroom and studio hand-building and throwing projects.

Unfired Characteristics: A deep grey body, smooth and easy to use directly from the bag. This clay can be combined with VitraClay ‘School and Studio All Purpose Clay with Grog’ for recycling and reusing.

Working Notes: A broad firing range allows this clay to be treated as a low fire body or taken to the higher temperatures. Ideal for everything from thumb pots to sizable projects, the smooth body makes it excellent for throwing as well as modelling with detail.

The clay colour is warm buff at bisque and fires to buff grey at glaze temperature. The higher you fire, the darker the body will become.
