Texture: Very smooth

Unfired Characteristics: Chocolate brown and butter smooth the superb closed structure is very easy to use and works well in everything from pinch pots to large thrown pieces.

Fired colour: Red

Shrinkage: 14.4%

Ideal for throwing and hand building.

Firing Range

Ideal Bisque: 1100°C (cone 02)

Glaze Range: 1060°C to 1160°C (cone 04 to cone 4)

Working Notes

An excellent terracotta body with a warm and natural character. Smooth and easily workable, this clay is a reliable earthenware choice for school and studio. The smooth finish makes this clay excellent for slip decoration and sgraffito.

Health & Safety

As the clay contains crystalline silica, avoid inhaling the dust from dried out clay. Wear an FFP3 mask, wash hands after use and clean up using a damp sponge. Dust off dirty clothes and aprons outside.
