For measuring temperatures between -50°C to 1250°C.
Use:
The Type N Thermocouple typical use would be for low to higher firing environments such as raku, small alternative kiln projects using a variety of fuels, gas kilns and wood firing kilns. They must not be used in electric kilns.
Specifications:
- 2 metre wire (compensating wire).
- Probe length - 200mm long, diameter - 6mm.
- Mineralised sheath to protect from carbonisation and can be used in reduction environments.
- Plug is secured with cable clamp.
- Follows the standard IEC 60584-3 colour coding and is a class 1 product.
General advice:
Both the Type K and the Type N thermocouples should be used correctly to ensure a long life. We suggest only hold long enough to the heat to get a reading then withdraw. Do not dangle the thermocouple into a hole or hold it by the cable and do not leave in situ as the end with sealant within could melt, which would then give distorted readings on the pyrometer.
