It would be sensible to protect from the worst hazard in your mix. We suggest wearing a mask, gloves, glasses and working in a ventilated area. Do not use in a domestic environment. Do not eat or drink in your workspace. Keep working areas free of dust by cleaning up with a damp sponge. It is a sensible precaution for children not to work with raw materials.
I don't have storage space for raw materials and wanted to try making my own dipping glazes. This is an excellent option to replace using commercial glazes. Hotclays were really helpful answering my questions when ordering and advising on substitutions. I uploaded a screenshot of the recipe to the order so that they could double check everything and measure out the exact amount of each material. The glaze has fired perfectly and I am very happy.
