The intense speckle gives the clay plenty of character. Perfect for hand building and throwing.
The intense speckle gives the clay plenty of character. Perfect for hand building and throwing.
Unfired characteristics: A finely grogged stoneware, relatively smooth in texture. The wet clay is a yellow buff with a few black flecks.
Working notes: This clay has a slightly coarse texture when throwing, but it shapes well and tolerates changes. With hand building it cuts to a clean edge and has a firm plastic feel.
The colour at bisque is more yellow than buff, this darkens with a heavy mottling at a higher temperature. This works well with a light application of a glaze allowing the character of the clay to show through.
