This glaze could be potentially safe for dinner/tableware. To be certain, you would need to submit your wares for testing at a reputable laboratory. In the UK, the emphasis in law is to the ‘maker’ who takes responsibility for the food/dinner safety of a glazed or unglazed ceramic ware.

For further reading, please read our knowledge base article "Food Safety in Ceramics".

Health & Safety

Lead Free.

Refer to each SDS below for the individual hazards of each glaze.

General Advice:

When handled sensibly, a 'brush-on' glaze presents no serious health issues, but to be safe, do not ingest the liquid and avoid contact with your skin and eyes.

A powder or dried brush-on glaze presents a hazard. It may contain crystalline silica and other materials, which, when inhaled, can cause long-term damage to the lungs or other health problems. We suggest when working with powders or when cleaning, wear an FFP3/P3 mask and filter and use a wet sponge.

Constant colour, smooth and easy to apply with a brush.

Disappointed

I tried this instead of the glaze I normally use as I use so much white I thought it would save money. It was patchy and dripped and reglazing with my normal glaze hasn't covered it up.

Excellent white liner.

Totally happy with white zircon. Lines interior forms beautifully evenly. Brush on formula is no nonsense out of the pot laying evenly on bisqware. Would happily buy again.
