This glaze could be potentially safe for dinner/tableware. To be certain, you would need to submit your wares for testing at a reputable laboratory. In the UK, the emphasis in law is to the ‘maker’ who takes responsibility for the food/dinner worthiness of a glazed or unglazed ceramic ware.

For further reading, please read our knowledge base article "Food Safety in Ceramics".

Health & Safety

Lead Free.

Refer to each SDS below for the individual hazards of each glaze.

General Advice:

When handled sensibly, a 'brush-on' glaze presents no serious health issues, but to be safe, do not ingest the liquid and avoid contact with your skin and eyes.

A powder or dried brush-on glaze presents a hazard. It may contain crystalline silica and other materials, which, when inhaled, can cause long-term damage to the lungs or other health problems. We suggest when working with powders or when cleaning, wear an FFP3/P3 mask and filter and use a wet sponge.

Beautiful glaze

A lovely semi-matt glaze, worked beautifully on its own or layered with reactive white. Will be buying more!

Matt multi tonal blues

Jeans in many shades altogether in one easy to apply matt glaze. Stays where you put it and picks up texture well. Looking forward to combining with other Vitraglaze colours.

Beautiful glaze

I'd call this more of a French navy than denim but it is lovely.

Beautiful

It is wonderful. It is a satin finish with subtle softness that is gorgeous to touch. Fired to 1220C as I glazed a pumpkin and some bakers loaf cookware. I will be buying more.
