A glossy, semi-transparent glaze that is as versatile as it is beautiful. A stunning white glaze at first glance, but upon continuous inspection, you will witness the subtle hints of various hues reminiscent of a precious stone. Natural Opal is great with a standard application and is even more precious when layered with other colours. A stoneware glaze from Speedball that doesn't need a high firing temperature.

Firing Range:
Fire between 1186°C (cone 5) and 1222°C (cone 6).
Suitable for stoneware clay.

General Advice:
When handled sensibly, a 'brush-on' glaze presents no serious health issues, but to be safe, do not ingest the liquid and avoid contact with your skin and eyes.
A powder or dried brush-on glaze presents a hazard. It may contain crystalline silica and other materials, which, when inhaled, can cause long-term damage to the lungs or other health problems. We suggest when working with powders or when cleaning, wear an FFP3/P3 mask and filter and use a wet sponge.
