For use when making larger sculptures. Armature wire can be bent into shape to create a frame in which to hang your clay.
When making a model, or sculpture, you create an armature as a frame upon which to put the clay. It gives support to extended or vulnerable protrusions, for instance a tail on an animal, or an arm on a statue. It is made of aluminium and is therefore bendy, although the thicker wires are less flexible.
Hot Clay tip - Use as thinner wire as you can get away with, then pad out with newspaper and string around the armature to almost the full dimension of the sculpture, before adding your clay. The newspaper will make it easier to remove the wire and it will allow shrinkage without cracking the clay.

Please note - This can NOT be left inside a model when firing. As it will melt and damage your kiln.
