Product Information

Maximum Temperature: 1600°C*

Please note that the load on the firing rods depends heavily on the weight of the ceramics being fired, as well as the heating rate and final firing temperature, these can snap if too much weight is applied. The ceramic rods are resistant to oxidising and sooting. Glaze can stick to the rods.

* In principle they can withstand up to 1600°C, but the maximum temperature does depends on the load and firing program; just like your wares the rods are ceramic so are affected by heatwork and how heavy they are loaded. The manufacturer tested an example at 1320°C @180°C/hr with a 30 min soak and saw no change.

It is recommended to test with practice wares before firing your final pieces.
