A primary ingredient as a flux in a glaze. This is often preferred to feldspars as it will reduce crazing.

Molochite is a white aggregate that can be put into porcelain and white firing bodies and casting slips to reduce shrinkage and protect against thermal shock. Its low iron content will maintain the whiteness of a fired body. The mesh size of 120 sits perfectly in the middle of the range of sizes usually available, 8 -325.
