Vitraclay School and Studio Terracotta Clay - Low Fire (Earthenware)

A smooth soft clay with a very ‘plastic’ body, making it excellent for throwing, hand-building and modelling.

Unfired Characteristics: Chocolate brown and butter smooth the superb closed structure is very easy to use and works well in everything from pinch pots to large thrown pieces.

Working Notes: An excellent terracotta body with a warm and natural character. Smooth and easily workable, this clay is a reliable earthenware choice for school and studio. The smooth finish makes this clay excellent for slip decoration and sgraffito.

The fired colour is a soft red becoming darker in the higher end of the firing range.

• Ideal Bisque - 1100°C
• Glaze Range - 1060°C to 1160°C
• Shrinkage - 14.4%

Available in either 1kg bags or 12.5kgs bags.
