If you intend on using powdered glazes or making slips or casting bodies, then a sieve is a vital part of your ceramic equipment. The process of sieving separates particles that will naturally want to bind together, it will refine and smooth a liquid. With raw materials in some glazes, it will help filter out anomalous sized grains.
The 25.5cm diameter sieve is sensibly sized to fit into most 10 Ltr to 20 Ltr buckets and with the help of thick rolling guides they can be used on any wide bucket.
We recommend the use of a sieve brush as that will not damage the surface of the mesh, although some prefer a soft kidney or spatula. Make sure you clean thoroughly after use making sure to clean under the edges of the sieve before moving onto another procedure.
